Pheasant is a wild bird. "Caucasian pheasant" species exist in the plains and foothills of Azerbaijan and are an important link in the natural food chain. By eating a large number of insects, it helps to protect the green areas where it lives. Pheasants themselves are prey for foxes, wild cats and birds of prey. Since ancient times, people have hunted this bird and used it in their food. However, in recent years, the decline of this type of bird has been observed. In a few years, the fate of the Talysh pheasant, Turaj, and other rare birds, which are included in the Red Book of the pheasant, and almost completely destroyed, can await. Since ancient times, pheasant meat has been called "Tsar's bird" because of its taste. The composition of meat consists mainly of proteins, fat and cholesterol are absent, and carbohydrates make up only two percent. The product contains 13 types of vitamins, 19 types of minerals, and amino acids. Nutritionists especially recommend eating pheasant to the elderly, pregnant women and those suffering from nervous system disorders.
